Thanks very much for all the inputs. Wow, a CD555, impressive. Naim is great/good, I heard a CDX2 in 2002, great sound, just did not 'fit' in my system (too forward).
I thought Simaudio Eclipse was going to be last player. It 'fit' in my system better than Sony SCD1. It seems that increasing expectations is a trap I fall into sometimes. Andromeda cost me plenty.
I am limited to what I can audition. I suppose if I were in LA, or NYC I could have more choices. I could not afford CD12 in year 2002, so bought Eclipse instead, being cheaper and seems to have some upgrade in detail from Karik Numerik. I suppose a Linn Klimax DS will do it all
In 1983 I was happy with a $200 (1974 dollars) Lafayette system (complete stereo), brought me joy for 9 years. Thanks.
Bill
