Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Here we go again...

You can also check the Weiss DAC1 MkII (6700 USD MSRP). This is what Daniel Weiss told me when I asked him if the DAC1 does any upsampling:

The DAC1 has built in a DSP chip which handles part of the upsampling. The DAC chip itself also does a part.

The following happens:

input sampling rate - upsampling in DSP chip - oversampling in DAC chip
44.1 or 48 - times 2 to 88.2/96 - times 4 to 352.8 /384
88.2 or 96 - no - times 4 to 352.8 /384
176.4 or 192 - no - times 2 to 352.8 /384
