RE: How many Audiophiles have Multiple Systems here ? ....................

I can't believe much of what I'm reading in this post or its replies!

You Americans (I'm guessing, but excuse me if I'm wrong) have hifi in your garages! Isn't this where you keep your car when not being driven? Why on earth have hifi there - does your car enjoy listening to music when it's all alone? OK, sorry about that, but I'm bewildered.

Next, it worries me that your hifi expenditure is diluted over several different systems, presumably all end up as mediocre, unless you are millionaires. OK, sorry about that too, but I'm more bewildered!

Personally I have my entire hifi budget concentrated in one system that's in my living room. I have one pair of first-class speakers and one set of very satisfactory electronics. Total value (list price) about £42K. If I was to spread this budget amongst 4 or 6 systems, I couldn't enjoy the sort of sound quality I can from my single expensive system. OK, sorry about this once again, but I'm even more bewildered!

If I go to my bathroom or kitchen or garage or any other parts of my home, I go there to do other things than to listen to high quality music. Maybe it's just me who's odd?
