Neither do I think that different masters necessarily invalidate any listening tests regarding formats. It does mean you have to take it into consideration when forming your opinions. Consider the young people who grew up on Mp3s and who then heard the same music on an LP record for the first time. Maybe different masters, but that does not invalidate their emotional reaction to what they hear.
The cost in audiophileville never convinces me of anything, and I can assure you I would not spend $21 for an album I already have six copies of in various formats if their wasn't a compelling sonic reason for it. Enjoy your streaming. I enjoy it too. It's what I listen to much of the time, but I sure am glad the record companies are re-releasing some of the great albums in 24/192.
