"1) Run the AES/EBU output from the C-5xe to the QX-5 Twenty for everything but SACDs, but leave the analog output of the C-5xe connected to your preamp when listening to SACDs. Then just change inputs when listening to SACDs. Sure the QX-5 Twenty is newer and sounds better, but the C-5xe is still a great sounding player and you won't be going backwards."


I was thinking about this the other night when eyeing up the rack and wondering where the QX-5 Twenty will fit when it arrives and making sure the cable runs are all set.

I realized nearly all of my SACDs are dual layer, and the C-5exmp reads only the SACD layer. Is there a defeat for that to have it simply read the CD only?
