Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

Theoretically, all transports should sound the same.

IMHO theoretically they should sound different.
Not because of the digital part. The samples will remain the same. Indeed the bits are the bits and have the robustness inherent to digital.
However, the output (AES/EBU, SPDIF, I2S) is clock driven. Nothing digital about a clock, we simply use its absolute value including its (in)accuracy in its cycle to cycle time. Different clocks will yield a different amount of input jitter.

If this will be audible in practice is a different matter. Modern DAC's are very good in eliminating input jitter.
