Meanwhile, back on topic, transports are like everything else. There are bad, good, better, and best ones. Apparently the Jay's Audio unit is one of the best, as is the PS Audio unit (it also does SACDs). The PS audio unit is audibly superior to a Bryston BCD1 used as a transport only and to the Cambridge CXCV2 - and it's pretty how obvious with just a few seconds of listening.
