Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

RE: Sure it is

Beyond data errors yes, Same data, same sound. A better transport no doubt will have less read erros. But these subtle audiophile things like "sound stage, openess, veil being lifted" cannot be introduced at that stage - unless there is a DSP in the path and for the purposes of this discussion let's assume there isn't

And any manufacture that introduces changes to the data beyond standard error correction to an SPDIF output, well shame on them.

Perhaps some of these esoteric transports are doing just that?

EDIT: And enough with the $60 DVD player. FYI, it was a first generation player that a 480 progressive output. More like $600.

Every thing about you seems to be money and cost versus value.
