RE: Comparing ripped files......

I didn't think a comparison was possible, but asked to make sure. Appreciate the detailed info.

Most of the rips were to FLAC using dbPoweramp with AccurateRip. While I don't stream my ripped CD collection, I do continue to rip them for backup purposes if nothing else (and backed up to a cloud drive as well). If I have a fire, I'll still have all of my digital music.

Playback was/is to the same DAC. Way back when it was a Squeezebox 2 serving up the files. Then I used a laptop with a USB to spdif converter. Now it's a WiiM mini serving up Tidal, though for a very short while I got the WiiM to find and play my ripped files but somehow lost that connection and cannot make it work anymore (Windows issue I'm sure). For whatever reason, the silver disc still rules the day in terms of digital music playback.
