Home Digital Drive

Upsamplers, DACs, jitter, shakes and analogue withdrawals, this is it.

No i2S

While I am glad somebody is still working on CD's, I don't understand why Schiit threw in every possible connections on this URD EXCEPT for I2S.

From decades of experience, many audiophiles are painfully aware of how fundamentally flawed the current digital transmission standards are, e.g. coax, AES, USB. Even after years of constant band-aid'ing, these standards just can't seem to achieve that last 10%.

While I have heard of plenty of subpar I2S implementation that did not sound any better than above, the potential to sound better is there and Schiit should have included it IMHO. Ultimately, I believe the best digital sound quality comes from Digital file (CD or file)-> data buffer-> very short hardwired I2S connection inside the chassis to internal DAC without spdif or USB input chips.
