Not sure why an audiophile would want one. The audio clock is derived from the video clock and has relatively high levels of jitter. Chances are with HDMI that a video display is now connected to your audio system, which is a really good way to screw up the sound unless heroic measures are taken. And yes, the licensing is stupid. Last I checked I believe it was $15,000 for HDMI and another $15,000 for HDCP (mandatory for DVD players).
