Well, the forthcoming 9 series will tend to be less expensive than our other products. The chassis is a bit simpler (but perhaps even better looking) than the 7 series. Our goal is to try and keep competitive with the imported stuff while maintaining our "made in USA" ethos.

At the same time, youth and skill are no match for wisdom and treachery. We keep learning new tricks and keep pushing the envelope. I don't think that the new USB DAC will sound *quite* as good as the C-5xe, but for (a projected) price of less than one-third the 5-series player, I think we will get it to sound darned close. And who knows? With a hard-disc storage device (in your computer) rather than an optical one, maybe it will sound better.

That said, if you want to throw money at your system (and can wait even longer), then you may want to wait for our Ethernet DAC. It will probably be one of our "R" series products, so we can throw money at it. If all else is equal, more money buys you better performance. Then there are the other practical aspects that I have detailed in another post in this thread.
