Well, it is called the absolute sound so there must be an absolute opinion and it isn't going to be yours. :-)

Magazines are for entertainment - maybe discover a new product you didn't know about - that sort of thing.

Most stuff today from brands that have been around a couple of decades are "good" - then it's a matter of choosing which kind of good is good for you. Choose the imperfections you can best live with - you don't need no stinking magazine self-proclaimed legend in their own mind "expert" (quotes needed) to tell you what's good.
