RE: How does it work with Harley, Valin, and Heilbrun?

You surely have defined human nature. I suspect that the majority of active reviewers send the samples back fairly soon after finishing the review. However, if they really like it, they may procrastinate and perhaps buy it on accommodation, 40-60% off retail. Sell the last one for a small profit to pay for the next one.

Surely, some reviewers have had gear for years or decades. After a year or two, the manufacturer may not even want it back because it's obsolete due to new offerings. Or the manufacturer might encourage the reviewer to hold on to it if they've a fan of the product and the manufacturer thinks they can add a cheerleader to their ranks.

The most active reviewers likely don't have the time for this nonsense and just get the old stuff shipped off as expeditiously as possible to avoid any liability.
