One of the best ways to understand the soul and ethos of a product is to speak with the people who design it, make it and sell it. It's the job of a good reviewer to sift out what's real and what's not from the interplay. And there's a good chance the review will lack that last little bit of insight without this kind of discussion and the more talking the better.
