RE: Website Archives

Thanks Charley. When we launched the Stereophile website in December 1997,
one goal was to make all of the magazine's content available free on-line.
I have spent every Sunday morning over the past 19 years retrieving not
just 4 or 5 articles or reviews from the current issue from my archive but
also content from past issues. For reviews published before October 1995,
when we went DTP, I find the original measurement files so I can recreate
the graphs. For reviews and article published before 1985 for which we
don't have an electronic archive, I scan the original issue and use a pdf-text
conversion app to create a text file. I then do the HTML encoding and send
the HTML-encoded text files and formatted graph files to Jon Iverson for
posting to the site.

As well as > 1000 of equipment and record reviews, we have now posted
if not quite everything Gordon Holt ever wrote, the majority of his
writings.
