RE: Glass CDs

I don't pretend to have "solved" these challenges of computer based playback, but I find that using remote streamers minimizes them. From a music lover's standpoint, I cannot imagine returning to the need for shuffling physical media about my multiple systems.

1. The PC housing the files lives in the office downstairs. Data transfer is via shielded CAT7 ethernet through a router instead of a "direct" connection to audio gear.
2. The server is filtered both ways via a UPS, Tripp Lite conditioner and is connected to a different circuit panel than the audio system located upstairs. The audio system uses dedicated lines from the attic located panel.
3. The "player" computer in the system proper is a miniscule microRendu unit powered by an Uptone ultra capacitor based power supply that is galvanically isolated from the AC. Pic courtesy of Abe Collins.
