I was a successful dealer for MLAS (Mark Levinson Audio Systems), before Mark was forced out.
When Mark left, I didn't continue with Sandy Berlin & Co.
Later on, when Mark started Cello, all the pieces we sold had a name plate on the rear, indicating this was a Cello Audio Palette (or whatever product) by Mark Levinson.
I (as well other dealers and distributors) had to retrieve all of them that I'd sold and send them back to Cello, because Sandy Berlin (Madrigal) owned Mark's name. Sandy forced Mark to remove his name from the plate on the back of every single Cello piece that had been built. Even though Sandy's parent company was Madrigal Labs, not Mark Levinson Audio Systems.
Best regards,
Jim Smith
