Re: You said what you said.......

Show me where I said that tube gear is poorly designed.

Re : "accuracy" and "good sound" are completely interchangable

IMO that is not the case but if that's your opinion, ok.

I did realize that high-end audio is highly subjective, but I also realized that high-end audio is not necessarily focused on accuracy, that's why I did not buy high-end audio gear. But that's just me and you may think differently.

Re: accuray a moving target

I think that a speaker which is "flat" within a 10 dB window, is not accurate. People may like its sound but that's a different issue.

If you don't like my definition of accuray, let's look what Webster's has to say : in exact conformity with the truth, free from error or defect.

A speaker that is flat within a 3 dB window is more accurate than a speaker that is flat within a 10 dB window. An amplifier that produces 0.5% of distortion is more accurate that an amp that produces 10% of distortion.

Re: measuring a speaker in a different location.

As long as you measure the speaker using the same measurement protocol the location makes no difference. Unless of course you measure at listening position, in which case you are measuring not the speaker but (simplified) the room.

Re: High end music playback systems are an art form

Here our opinions are fundamentally different. That's ok with me and that's exactly why I stopped buying high-end gear.
