Damn straight!

As I mentioned to Tom Danley, if you believe all components (except speakers) sound essentially alike, there's no need for you to audition anything. Waste of your time.

I personally disagree with you. As others have intimated, I think you're getting less than what you really want. People hear differently and rooms interact differently, not to mention that different components interact with others differently. But my POV doesn't mean YOU should start auditioning gear. No reason for me to insult you over a simple difference of opinion.
