Can you learn a language by simply listening to people talking? Without someone who tells you the meaning of words, within different contexts, the rules of grammar etc. Obviously you can learn something but would this be enough to be considered as language expert?

Do you know for instance what group delay sound like without having been shown what it sounds like? Would you pass the test where different low-pass filters have to be put into correct order, whereby the hidden reference has to be detected first?

Live, unamplified music is not the reference for everyone. In addition you simply don't know if a specific recording has captured the event acurately, so when you play it a home and it doesn't sound right, you can't know who is the culprit.

So then please tell me why flat is not good. How can a speaker that shows deviations from flat response and is hence adding to the recorded information be accurate? Why is a speaker that measures flat and hence does not add to the recorded information not accurate?
What then is accurate in measurement terms? Do you think that speakers that measure flat are sounding bad, implicitly, always?

If measurements are useless, why do scientists measure? Why does your GP send your blood samples to the lab?

As for correlation between sound and measurements, did you read the publications of Toole and Olive?

When, where are they published. What components have been compared? Does one positive blind test between amps mean that all amps sound different?

No, I'm living in Holland (30 min from Amsterdam airport). If you are curious to know how (measurably) accurate speakers sound like, you're welcome.
