I didn't think it was possible either, until it happened to me.

Thats why I said I don't understand what happened. It's almost as if my classical gene was turned off overnight and I can't turn it back on. Because I don't understand how a music style that was my favorite for over 38 years could all of a sudden hold no interest for me.

It's been over four months now and I just cannot stand to listen to classical or any other type of orchestral music any more. I do still have Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez however it's the jazz version on Miles Davis' Sketches of Spain from Classic Records 200 gram LP mastered by Bernie Grundman. I like this jazz version fine.

The reason I quit SACD was because of TOC reading problems I had with both the Sony 9000ES and Xindak SCD-2. It was frustrating having to reload an SACD over and over for it to read the SACD layer, since the problem was intermediate I had to wait until it wouldn't read half of my SACDs on the first try, then I would send it off to get it fixed. LPs got played a lot while it was in for repair each time and I just finally gave up. Until years later I purchased the Yamaha because the transport was dead quite even with my ear near the drawer, so I gambled. That player five years later still plays perfectly, reading the SACD layer every single time or any other discs I put in it. Moral of the story is I will avoid any Sony made transport. Sony made the transport for the Xindak.

I still loved the sound of SACDs when I reluctantly sold them and went totally analog. But I'm basically lazy so within a few years I was back due to the convenience of SACDs and other high resolution digital.

Remember it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind.
