Have you noticed the prices on audio gear in general? All manufacturers, speakers, amps, CDPs, turntables, cables, etc. Everyone is coming out with a new top of the line that is double the price of their old top of the line. Look at the Vandersteen 7's for example. Now you ask ....why?
Well look at our economic structure. The middle class is shrinking and the rich are getting richer at a startling rate. Hence audio manufacturers are just going along the path they need to survive, by catering to the wealthy. Economic principals suggest that if units sold is down, you need to make more profit per unit sold to survive. It's that simple. The reviewer is simply doing his job as a pimp, or pitchman if you prefer. Don't believe the hype (unless of course you can afford it). ;D
