Gosh, Gerhardt and Wilkinson did all those great recordings without modern high end cables! Well, there is an obvious answer: that cables aren't all that critical for the application. There doesn't seem to be any good evidence to the contrary.
As for the reviewer, he hasn't even shown he can tell the whether the cables he uses make any difference to the sound that he or anyone else can hear. There's no use paying any attention to what he says about the alleged sound of the cables.
