RE: Salvatore savages Tellig

Well I think that "very good Kenwood turntable" is a bit of a oxymoron. Probably had a Audio Tech., Shure or Stanton MM cartridge on it as well. I never thought much of the Quad amps, but I love the Quad ESLs.

When you consider the amount of information contained on a LP and also the fact that there isnt the same level of conversion, I think that it is pretty obvious that LPs are intrinsically better. Know of few audio enthusiasts who dont agree. Granted playing vinyl is much more time intensive and also more a labor of love, but dont you find it interesting that SOTA digital rigs always want to be compared with analog?

Warping has never been a problem with me. Store your LPs properly and I dont see the issue. Surface noise is often the result of poor wax, or improper cleaning....I have many albums with very little surface noise. I could go on and on.

I think something that is worth mentioining is that I have both analog and digital front ends. My main digital system is significantly more expensive than my turntable (for now) and isnt even close. Digital sounds exactly like what it is. It is segmented sounding, tight, thin and never comes off the speakers.

I resolutely believe 2 things in audio: 1) Analog is superior to digital and 2) All things equal, sealed enclosures are always better than ported designs. I also think that small signal tubes are better than SS devices in preamps, etc, but this is for another day.

I dont object to the fact that you like digital better than analog. What I dont like is the implication that we analog lovers are fooling ourselves and are cultish. Believe me I would really like to digital to be at least close to as good as analog. It would make life much simpler.
