RE: Salvatore savages Tellig

I wont debate on anything else, as we are both entitled to our views, and yours is no less valid than mine..

However...I MUST address you argument that cds were "shoved down our throats". The LP NEEDED to be killed off.

Warping, inner groove distortion, surface noise, etc was too much for many too take. I have news for you, I know way more sophisticated music loving audiophiles than myself who were doing victory dances when cd came out because they were SICK of the LPs shortcomings. You seem to forget that $30 and $40 "boutique" LP offerings on "180 gm" vinyl are relatively new.

And lastly, I grew up listening to LPs on a very good Kenwood turntable thru Quad amps and ESLs ( my dads system).

When cds started to actually be mastered from the original tapes and not LP masters I heard things on albums I was intimately familiar with for the FIRST TIME.

Please dont be one of the zany LP heads who proclaims as FACT that LP playback is preferable to compact disc. Its no more valid than French food is superior to Japanese.
