Home Critic's Corner

Discuss a review. Provide constructive feedback. Talk to the industry.

Skepticism only increases with responses such as: "I am not obliged to prove anything ... "

I questioned the audibility of a -0.25dB change with one EQ slider and its ability to significantly improve the subjective sound quality of a recording.

So YOU start off talking about 0.5dB and 1 dB changes with an EQ ...

... and then when you finally get around to the actual subject of 0.25dB changes, you make your claim even tougher to believe (that a 0.25dB reduction of the 3.15kHz. band of an equalizer significantly improved a recording) by providing a classic JA non-explanation:
"I am not obliged to prove anything to you ... "

I just don't get this type of non-response post -- you waste your time typing a post to state that you will not respond?

Why bother?

Don't you have a day job to keep you busy?

I'm retired and can afford to waste time debating golden ears.
I hope your boss doesn't fire you for time wasted writing AA posts that don't respond to questions (which doesn't make Stereophile look good).

Your loudspeaker reviews and measurements have been the best reviews in the magazine since JGH left. So get back to work and do something more productive than ignoring questions and skepticism here. Don't worry, we "armchair editors" will use our great READING experience ... to tell you how exactly how to WRITE an audio magazine.
