Re: Well it would appear that you've answered some of your

Soundmind, I'm curious about a comment you made in your post. You comment about the need for your system's complexity by stating : "It is. It must regenerate sound that was not captured in the recording process."

Now if the sound "...was not captured in the recording process." as you say how can it be regenerated? You CANNOT regenerate or recreate what never existed in the first place. What you are doing is generating of creating something you believe replicates the missing music that was not captured in the recording process.

So we see that you have an extremely complex system (with all the additional cabling that requires) plus you have devices that now generate or create sounds that are missing in the original recordings, that the device believes it now replicates correctly!

In light of this how do you chide audiophiles like myself with minimist systems, where a CDP feeds via 1 set of interconnects an integrated SET amp, which in turn feeds a pair of speakers via 1 set of speakerwire?

I'm not surprised you believe what you believe in light of now knowing what type of audio system you listen to. I'm sure you can put on an impressive display with your system, but although I may be wrong, I'd bet dollars to donuts that my system replicates a more realistic representation of live music.
