RE: Break Ins

I think a lot of the opinions on 'break in' really have more to do with the listener adjusting to the sound. Probably the biggest factor, but nobody wants to confront the elephant in the room. So much of it is psychological. As Analog Scott mentions, if there is a difference, it CAN be measured. Anything that affects the sound coming out of a loudspeaker, MUST change the signal going into the loudspeaker.
