Hi,Since we've had a contract with Canada's National Research Council (NRC), I can tell you that I've measured a lot of speakers -- and can therefore give you a little bit more than 2 cents.
Be careful of what someone is actually "measuring." Crystal Cable states the frequency response as 48Hz to 38kHz (+/-3dB), which is plausible, anechoically, at a moderate volume level. As you crank the volume up, however, you'll get compression.
Whatever TAS is stating has been measured is most assuredly non-anechoic, which is fine for what it is. It's an in-room measurement. But you have to know the room dimensions, the placement of the speakers, the SPL, etc. It's plausible that if you placed the speakers very close to a wall and use room gain + room modes to the speakers' benefit, you could generate quite a lot of low-frequency energy at a lower or moderate volume level -- enough, even, to show 25Hz energy, depending on where the microphone is place.
All told, though, for the average user, it's useless information. What you really have to see is a proper anechoic measurements to glean what the speaker itself is really doing. In a nutshell, then, don't pay much attention to it.
