Interesting, why do you think that this type of amp is a prerequisite for this speaker? Do you think it is do to the tuning of the port and as such the speaker is somewhat underdamped on its own? This is a serious question because I have personally found that if one uses a good sealed box design or no box design then damping factor for bass quality is no longer such a big issue.
