Re: Lack of correlation between measurements and listening

So if the measurements are not performed in real world conditions, don't correlate to what I hear because my room, my amplifier is different from his, of what value is the review to me? If there is no way to compensate for these differences, of what value is the design since the end result is almost entirely unpredictable?

"1. he is using quasi-anechoic conditions, whereas reviewers listen in a fully furnished room with more or less acoustic treatment or even digital "room correction"."

I assume by "digital room correction" you are referring to a digital equalizer. It would hardly surprise me at all to find that those who review audio equipment for a living use digital or analog equalizers, a bugaboo of audiophiles, in their own systems. I'm sure if you got them to confess, they'd have some weasely explanation as to why it makes sense for them in their particular case.
