Re: Measurements and Listening

There seems to be a rather obvious bias present here. There is an implied trust that subjective reviewers got it correct when reporting that something that measured well also sounded good, yet an explicit suggestion that the sounded good observation was incorrect when the unit measured bad.

So be it, but for in my case you find me even one 'good' review of a Bryston 4BSST, something that measures well, and I'll say BS. Well actually I wouldn't quite go that far, I'd respect that many many folk think the thing sounds good, but I had it at home, compared it directly against the Keenwood L-07Ms I was then using, and hated it (the 4BSST). Acually the comparison wasn't even necessary, I couldn't stand the sound Period!, shrill and cold, and horror of horrror, bass relatively speaking MIA!; my long term memory of that old bass champ the 4B NRB provides a striking indication of where Bryston took the 'sound' in some of their newer offerings.
