I'm wondering if they didn't do the same .5-way trick with the 3.7 that they did with the 1.7, but in this case in the midrange. (The ribbon tweeter already has superb dispersion and it shouldn't be an issue for the woofer given the wavelengths involved.) Not only would this improve power response at the midrange/tweeter crossover point, it would facilitate the use of a single pole crossover for better time domain response and the "seamlessness" that everyone has been talking about. And it would do so without compromising power handling since at lower midrange frequencies the entire midrange would be driven. Pure speculation, of course.
