Agreed, but it does not make your former statement valid, the dynamics of a live performance can be reproducted by a good system.

Nope, loudest peak in any performance (acoustic or otherwise) has a finite upper limit, the noise floor also has a lower limit, and those limits are within the capability of the modern audio technology.
