Actually what they are paying for is the incredible cost of OUTsourcing everything in Switzerland

I have been to darTZeel and there is NO factory. They outsource EVERYTHING...even the final assembly. This costs HUGE money to do this way but you need only 2 or 3 full-time employees (in fact it is just Hervè Deletraz and his cousin Serge). Hervè designs everything and specifies it all and then...out it goes.

All subassemblies are done by different suppliers, IN Switzerland. All machining is outsourced...in Switzerland. Electronics boards outsourced in Switzerland. EVERYTHING in Switzerland.

I live here and can attest to the high cost of everything. I work for a big Pharma firm here and I can tell you that outsourcing (we do a lot of it in my company) costs a fortune (in Switzerland).

Their product made by themselves "by hand" would probably be half as expensive but a lot more work for them...so they outsource. If they outsourced to China like a lot of "manufacturers" they would save a ton as well but maybe the quality would be dodgy.
