More conspiracy theories, eh?

Just a couple of comments. First, if you do see a dealer with two systems in his or her home comprised of phased out models or lines they do not carry, I wouldn't be alarmed in the least. You are usually an audiophile before you are a dealer, which means you probably already have a bunch of equipment. I have a whole wardrobe closet full of speakers, players, cables and interconnects that accumulated over the years.

I also have new inventory stashed throughout the house.

Some components in both my systems are the current versions of what I sell. Other items in my systems are either phased out or lines I do not sell. The problem is that I haven't sold enough inventory to be able to buy the current (and sometimes better) stuff for my own personal use.

I suspect I am not in the minority, unless you are talking about a very established and long-time dealer, or one that has absolutely no business sense, or maybe even one that has no ethics.
