No one can deny that Bose is a great marketing company. I don't think anyone can ridicule that point. The issue of whether it meets certain defined highend audio performance criteria can be debated. It is no different in discussing the differences and preferences in any gear that graces the Class A category of Stereophile.Since MP3 quality is acceptable to most customers we are left to easily assume that retrieving that Nth degree of resolution or detail is of no consequence to the majority of potential customers. We can also deduce that WHAT you listen to mp3 quality on matters little either. Those of us who enjoy the highend audio hobby find this position unreasonable in light of available technology. These same people often own expensive homes, drive the best cars, stay in the finest hotels, and dine at the world's finest restaurants, and yet listen in audio fast-food land. Go figure.
