Ten years ago or so I made a tour of California audio stores wearing my Press hat. At each location...

...I posed the question to the staff (when no customers were present, to save them the embarrassment), "What sells better? Good sound or good reviews?"

We all know what the chorus sang.

Given that situation, how can a dealer not become at least a little cynical -- and disparaging of the mags? Not to mention, of the customers?!
