Depends what artists you are talking about. Most artists recording music aren't getting $50.00 a ticket for a live show. They are lucky to get half that. And there are now four bands at a show where there were typically two.
Most musicians in that demographic I talk too dislike streaming because now, in addition to t-shirts, hats, coozies, buttons, they now also sell compact discs and vinyl, which never occurred when I was a kid. They can sell music at a concert, and can avoid paying the retailer. They can't really sell streaming at a live event, and so most musicians prefer physical product. And from I what see, the compact discs and vinyl records sell pretty well.
