On the other hand, it may be if everybody goes "streaming" (which seems to be the case), then the streaming companies will become the "gatekeepers", just as the radio DJ's were 50 years ago. If the labels still exist, they will either have to have their own streaming services or else bribe the streaming services to promote that label's catalog (like the old payola scandals of AM radio in the US).
