Wasn't that Charles' point?

More basically, it is also impossible to measure inter-personal enjoyment levels (utility levels) on a cardial scale. One person may prefer A to B and another B to A, but we can't compare their personal levels of enjoyment for A or B. There are also any number of less theoretical problems associated with stated preference experiments, in general, and even more in A-B audio testing in a small group setting.
