I didn't miss it, it's just an emphatic statement, a colorful detail, that changes nothing.
But as a matter of fact, Stereophile did do a DBT on a tube and a SS amplifier a number of years ago. Of course, it showed an audible difference, but then the measurements showed a difference in the FRs that should be audible. Hardly worth a DBT, IMO.
As a consumer, I will stick with Charles Hansen's opinion on MQA until there is good evidence MQA is better.
