And Also a Shame

I started downloading them. I was hoping to get the very first issue, but the earliest one on Archive.org was July 1947 and the editor's introduction made reference to a May 1947 issue... :-(

Then the next one was August 1947. Whomever scanned it was careless and in a hurry. They clearly used some sort of auto-feed on the scanner and it butchered things rather badly. All of the page breaks in the PDF file were off by about 1.5" and page 44 was MIA.

Argh! "If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well."

Why spend the time to preserve history and then do it half-assed and lose part of it? It's almost like amateur archeologists who don't know what they are doing, and inflict irreparable damage on irreplaceable items. Even if someone has that August 1947 issue tucked away somewhere, they may just discard it, thinking it has already been properly preserved... :-(
