"Reference system?" Dude, I'm not a magazine critic or a millionaire, just a retired engineer. The amps and speakers that I have are what I can afford and lift, and what is practical in a system that will be triamped. I was curious about the AHB2, and so decided to give it a try. So far, I have been pleased, with some caveats mostly having to do with the reproduction of piano. If you want to send me some amps and converters, I'd be delighted.Your assertion that my "belief system," whatever that is, is focused on speakers and room acoustics is strange to say the least, given that I mentioned the sonic characteristics of electronics repeatedly in the post to which you just responded. Most of my posts here happen to be in the Planar Asylum, so of course what I write is focused on speakers and room acoustics.
As to gift and practice, you really are fond of making biographies out of thin air, aren't you? So far you've cast me as a critic (reference amplifier), someone who claimed that the Benchmark was the best amplifier that was or could be made (I have never made any such claim), and someone with a religious belief system that apparently involves speakers and room acoustics to the exclusion of all else. You really should consider a second career as a novelist, given your flair for the creation of interesting fiction.
Take care.
