As there have been literally zero DBTs accepted by the scientific establishment that show any possible audible differences (except for differences in frequency response), why would anybody expect a positive for MQA?
If they do find a difference, then it could mean only one of two things:
1) MQA changes the frequency response
2) McGill University is as susceptible to corruption as most other universities - just look at the turn of the 20th century when all of the Ivy League institutions in the US took grants from the Rockefeller family to set up medical branches in exchange for control over who was appointed to the faculty - only people that believed in drugs made from petrochemicals which the Rockefellers had a monopoly at the time.
