Jeez, fellow white geezers.....

Hifi publications and designers/manufacturers work in tandem. Its a symbiotic relationship. I wasn't coming from ridiculing anybody, but IMO it makes sense for both to make more of an attempt to appeal to minorities and women, especially those that are young. Plus, it'd make both shows and mags more interesting.

The gist of a bunch of replies to my OP amounts to "The mags reflect the makeup of their readers and musical choices made by show exhibitors reflects the preferences of the attendees." Yeah, no shit. So is the goal of manufacturers and hifi mags to maintain a customer base of white male semi and full blown geezers and some Asian guys until they all die off, or is it to exist and flourish past that customer base's expiration date?

IMO the absence of minority/female reviewers who listen to music that has basically been unrepresented in reviews, and playing the same tired music at shows works well to fulfill the self-fulfilling prophesy that only old white guys and some Asian men care about and buy hifi products.
