Or am I supposed to read LG's mind and know that he has visited dozens of friends and dealers, and borrowed dozens of competing amplifiers, and is familiar with all of the currently highly considered products on the market, but somehow forgot to mention that in his review? I know what he lists in the review. But as you state, I, nor you, know what he has heard at friends, perhaps dealers, shows, etc. But you were the one who substantively made the claim that he has not heard other equipment not named Levinson. If you do don't know that to be true, perhaps you don't make the statement.

Not what I wrote. I wrote that how they make their money should not matter in terms of the value or lack thereof in the equipment. There is equipment I choose not to purchase for reasons other than sonics. But that hardly means the sonics are less than good.

I can't. I've read Fremer praising many turntables over the years. I've read him criticizing several as well. Were all the turntables he praised Payor sourced or inspired? I doubt it. Then comes the Calibrun, which apparently you've not heard, and apparently erased his memory of Payor?
