My point is that reviewers get to listen to a whole lot more equipment at home with months to play with it unlike the average audiophile, which helps them develop their critical listening skills.

I would go on to say that on the basis of experience and technical knowledge, JA is probably the best in the business with all of the audiophile recordings he's made and equipment he's listened to and measured over the past, what 30+ years?
