I once had a "tweak" which was a "glass plate" to be placed atop (label side) the CD..... It greatly improved the sound, there was a better sense of "dynamic gradation"..... The problem was it caused the CD not to play in most players.......... Then the clamp in one player didn't quite get the plate "centered" over the CD, it ended up mangling the transport mechanism and chipping the plate itself.
If I knew of a good transport where such a tweak would work reliably, I'd try it again. (Although I think the product would now be almost impossible to find. One would have to be fabricated. I don't remember the name of the product. It was marketed in the late 1980s/early 1990s.)![]()
